Dr. Robert Zergenyi is the founder of wideocean.org, bringing together a unique blend of scientific expertise, environmental advocacy, and maritime experience. As a seasoned glaciologist and geophysicist, Robert has spent decades working in risk management, data science, and investigative analysis, with a focus in environmental and infrastructure resilience.

Beyond his scientific and strategic work, Robert is a passionate sailor and diver, with over 25 years of experience navigating and exploring the world’s oceans. He holds certifications as a Yacht Master Ocean (RYA) and PADI Divemaster, and is often found aboard research vessels and yachts in the remote Arctic regions, where he combines his love for the sea with his commitment to ocean conservation.

Through Wideocean, Robert seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and public engagement, empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to the protection of marine biospheres across the globe.
